SOME GREAT FILM BOOKS YOU MIGHT ALSO WANT TO CHECK OUT.

The first one is a film book that I love. It's good for setting up shots and storyboard ideas. I learned quite a bit from this particular book.

Film Directing Shot by Shot: Visualizing from Concept to Screen (Michael Wiese Productions)

by Steve Katz (Author)

Here is another fantastic book. I've even gone to her 3 day workshops.

Directing Actors: Creating Memorable Performances for Film & Television

by Judith Weston (Author)

A good reference book for cinematography...

Cinematography: Third Edition

by Kris Malkiewicz (Author), M. David Mullen (Author)

These books have some really good information on the their specific area of focus. They cover in more detail the technical aspects that I don't spend a lot of time on in my book. My book is all about the specifics that have to do with financing, creating and distributing films of any scope. I take you from A to Z in really getting money for your project and then getting it back through proper distribution. My book came about precisely because all of these books leave out the real deal when it comes to getting your film distributed and making a career in film.

What other film professionals are saying about this book:

"Finally, a book that will actually tell you not only how to make a film but what you do both before and after the process of actually shooting it. This is a must have resource to carry with you in this rapidly evolving environment of film making. It is also and in depth look that tells it like it is, which may help separate those who love watching movies and those who have no other choice but to follow this path of actually creating movies and all the hardship and reward that comes from such pursuits."

- Shawn McClaren
Hallmark Producer
Hallmark Hall of Fame

“I have read many of the ‘how to’ filmmaking books out there over the years.
This book stands far and away above the rest. It is full of indispensable real world facts and information that one very rarely comes across. A must have for any filmmaker!"

"There is some INSANELY valuable information in this book. I actually took notes and have been recommending the book to people. What they don't seem to understand is that you need to grasp all the info BEFORE shooting a frame, and certainly before going into post!"

"Dennis, your passion for filmmakers comes right through in this book. There is so much TRUTH and so much GOOD ADVICE in here, it's amazing. I especially loved the part about tax incentives and raising money. Every filmmaker should read this book. I will be recommending it to everybody I know."
